Known Issue:
Last week (9/28/15 - 10/4/15) Blackboard experienced service degradation
.  Items that encountered issues and were reported to the ITS Call Center included: quizzes, tests, announcements, and Collaborate.

Assignments and tests submitted may have become corrupted

Please note:
Engineers worked to resolve this degradation over the weekend.  As of 8 a.m. on 10/5/15
Blackboard is fully operational.

For technical assistance, contact the ITS Call Center at (907) 786-4646 or Toll Free (877) 633-3888.

Known Issue:
Incompatibility of Web Browsers that do not support NPAPI Plugins
In September 2015, Google Chrome will stop supporting NPAPI browser plugins.  This includes the use of Java in the web browser as well as most media player plugins.

When authoring with the Content Editor in Blackboard Learn, an author can embed media files such as Quicktime, Windows Media, and Flash.
The playback of these contents requires browser plug-ins for viewing.

Workaround Instructions:
Use a browser that supports NPAPI media plugins for viewing embedded media files, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Known Issue:

The Video Everywhere tool & the Mashup tool in Blackboard are not working correctly due to an authentication error.

Plan of Action:

As of summer ‘15, the Video Everywhere and YouTube Mashup options will be unavailable. The authentication issue will be resolved upon completion of UAA’s December 2015 Blackboard upgrade.

Workaround Instructions:

To review how to embed and/or link to videos saved in a YouTube account click the link below:

Previously Embedded Videos:
Previously embedded videos using the Mashup tool cannot be edited and will only play by right mouse clicking the video picture, then selecting the open in new tab option from the drop down.  We recommend adding instructions for students at the top of the page noting this procedure.

Cause of Issue:

Blackboard Announcement: Authentication Code Update
